Welcome

A community museum, run by locals, keeping the memory of Casino and its district alive for the next generation.

The Casino & District Historical Society was formed in 1965, and opened its museum the following year. For more than half a century, our volunteers have collected, catalogued and cared for the objects, images and documents that record everyday life across Casino and the Richmond Valley.

From the pioneering families who first settled the district to the industries, schools and events that shaped it, our collection is a window into the region's past — kept safe for students, researchers, visitors and the wider community.
